In 2010, at the Clinton Global Initiative meeting, there was a Special Session dedicated to the topic of how to stop the worldwide cancer epidemic.  Leaders in cancer control, including Paul Farmer of  Partners in Health, Princess Dina of Jordan, Lance Armstrong of LIVESTRONG, and Felicia Knaul of the Harvard Global Equity Initiative came together for a discussion entitled, “Addressing Cancer in the Developing World: Health Equity and an Overlooked Public Health Crisis”.  The session opens with a powerful video created by LIVESTRONG.

As we approach the September High Level Summit meeting all about non communicable diseases (NCDs) including cancer, it seems timely to watch this video session to hear more background on why these leaders in cancer control are so dedicated to stopping cancer around the world.

How does cancer affect you and your loved ones each day?  What would you want to say to world leaders about why we need to stop cancer?  If you have feedback, comments or questions, we’d love to hear from you.  Send us your blog comment so we can all be part of the dialogue on global cancer control!
