The MAX Foundation united with 25 patient associations for the 2012 Global Cancer Awareness Campaign with the theme of “Stomp Out Cancer”.
Patient associations around the world held Celebrations of Life throughout October to honor the life and spirit of people living with cancer across the globe. Countries represented in this year's campaign include Ethiopia, Kenya, Morocco, Niger, Sierra Leone, Togo, Uganda, India, Cambodia, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and the United States.
For 2012, participants of the awareness campaign planned events which encourage physical activity, so that we all could have an active role in "stomping out cancer" in our communities. The campaign promoted cancer prevention and minimizing risk for cancer recurrence and/or other adverse health conditions.
Note about the new logo: The exciting revisions of the Maximize Life logo for the 2012 campaign focusing on physical activity was a re-design by Fan. Fan is a graphic artist, cancer survivor and patient leader in Malaysia and he is also the original creator of the Maximize Life logo.
