Meet Jubril! He’s been with The Max Foundation since 2023, working as a Program Coordinator in our Africa region. Learn more about why he started with the organization, what his work week looks like, and a special memory he had with a patient.
What drew you to join The Max Foundation, and why does our mission resonate with you?
I wanted to do work that truly changes lives. Helping patients access life-saving treatment and giving them hope makes the mission deeply meaningful to me.
What is a special memory you have with patients?
A patient once told me that staying on treatment through The Max Foundation felt “like winning the World Cup.” I’ll never forget that.
Describe a typical work week.
No two weeks are the same. My work includes collaborating with physicians, pharmacists, hospitals, and government stakeholders. Making patient calls, logging patient dispense logs, and following up on shipment process.
If you could describe The Max Foundation in three words, what would they be?
Impact, Hope, Change.
If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be?
Storytelling. Words can change and move conversations for advocacy.
What languages do you speak?
English, Yoruba.
What do you love most about where you live?
I love the energy and resilience of Nigeria. People are incredibly resourceful, and there’s a strong sense of community. Every day brings new opportunities to connect with people and make a difference.
When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun?
Painting, playing tennis and, spending time with family.
What’s your favorite food?
Amala with gbegiri and ewedu.
If you could have dinner with someone famous, who would it be?
Aliko Dangote. He is an African industrialist.
What is your favorite holiday and how do you celebrate it?
Christmas, we get to spend time with family and dine together.
