Meet Max Partner Physician – Dr. Beatriz Moiraghi

Introducing Dr. Beatriz Moiraghi! She has worked as a hematologist for 25 years in Argentina and has been a Max partner physician since 2002. Learn more about her below.

Describe a typical work week:
On a typical workday, I arrive at the hospital early, at 7 a.m. I not only see patients from the Max program but also more than 250 patients with chronic myeloid leukemia.

How many patients are you treating in the program?
In the The Max Foundation program, I see approximately ten patients.

Is there a patient experience that stayed with you?
I have many stories about my patients, particularly when they receive their molecular test results and I can explain that everything is more than fine with the disease. I always emphasize adherence to the daily medication without missing any doses. Another memory is the look of surprise on their faces, relief at receiving treatment and hope for the future.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun?
I watch movies and TV series, and I read all kinds of novels. What I enjoy most is traveling, discovering new places, and meeting local people.

What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish.

What is your favorite food?
I like to eat salmon.
